Tales_From_Topographic_Oceans 0 Posted April 5, 2002 By mortar rifle, I assume you mean "bazooka"? Some blokes here want to call it a LAW lancher--it's a effing bazooka or mortar rifle. Your squad will shoot at the enemy and follow you like sheep to the slaughter. Select all of them with the function keys (F2-F7), and then order them to get in formation. This is under the "move" option. I am reciting this from memory so I may be wrong. Play with it and see. I enjoy issuing orders, and sending my men to their death. SIDE NOTE: The OPF CD box boasts that you can "go anywhere" and "shoot anything." That is partially true. I was flying a chopper in the campaign, and I was circling around to get a better shot at a BMP. I somehow fell out of formation with the leader yelling "1 fall back into formation," and the mission ended and said "Mission Failed." That pissed me off because I was in the middle of combat. So what if I fell out of formation. War is not linear, and formations rarely stay intact. That's my only complaint with the game. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
MaxTork 0 Posted April 5, 2002 No, by mortar rifle I'm pretty sure he means the mortar, not the "bazooka". No it is not a bazooka, It is just a poorly simulated LAW. Anyways, the mortar rifle should not be called a mortar, it should be called a rifle grenade or something. Oh yeah, I have no idea how the AI uses them, sorry. IsthatyouJohnWayne 0 Posted April 5, 2002 the AI fire grenades without orders, at least in the best of my experience they do, depends on range, Line of sight and stuff though. As for 'Mortars' in sure ive seen AI fire those too ,though pretty rarely (i like to be the guy with the mortar rifle, it rocks.... \>\>KaBOOM!!</</ ) reminds me of the artillery in Command and Conquer for some reason Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
