Subsidence of units in long distance view?

Recommended Posts

I hope that this type of thread doesent exists already I have searched but couldnt find any simmilar thread that is describing my problems in Arma2 with 1.05 patch.

I'm noticing subsidence of units in long distance view. When I'm looking with sniper rifle scope or binoculars to long distanced units. This happens when enemy starts to crawl, they look like they are with half of body in eart even when they are running their boots are in eart to ankles. When they die they lie buried in ground only back pack is looking out of soil and some head. I didn't noticed this before? Im using latest patch 1.05 + EW hotfix.

Graphic settings are on default with res. set to 1920x19200 but nothing in this graphic settings menu doesen't change that odd subsidence. I don't have any addons instaled only CBA and sound mod, but this couldn't be problem.

What about you folks?

PS: Sorry for my English mistakes.

Mate, that's the new "grass layer" which BIS added to the last 1.4 betas, and now apparently the 1.5 patch (I haven't installed the patch yet).

It makes enemy soldiers look like they're "sinking" into the grass. Search "grass layer" or similar for a discussion about it.

Thank you very much you have guessed spot on!

I asked some of my friend's and they said same thing is happening to them with new patch. This is quite nice addition that BIS gave into patch, makes game more realistic. And I was already thinking that my GPU is going south.

I have low distance and low-medium terrain settings so that's why it appears funky to me when looking with optic's subsidance of units in long distance. But when I come near them they lie like a turkey on plate... perfectly flat on ground.
