getting Planes to attack ground targets?

hello all. after watching an video on youtube of a bunch of jets attacking targets, i thought it would be good to make my own mission.

Problem is the AI isnt attacking Ground targets and are just getting shot down???

what do i need to get the AI to attack targets? (bare in mind i have set waypoints and they still arnt attacking)
