Lordkil 10 Posted December 12, 2009 (edited) Well, I installed Arma 2. Click on the desktop icon, completely unupdated at UK retail version 1.1. Nothing happened for about 5 seconds an then I got an ARMA 2 Has Stopped Working Message. Here's the Problem Report for it. Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: arma2.exe Application Version: 1.1.0.57631 Application Timestamp: 00000000 Fault Module Name: StackHash_1703 <--- This Might Help Fault Module Version: 0.0.0.0 Fault Module Timestamp: 00000000 Exception Code: c0000005 Exception Offset: 00000000 OS Version: 6.0.6001.2.1.0.768.3 Locale ID: 2057 Additional Information 1: 1703 Additional Information 2: 2264db07e74365624c50317d7b856ae9 Additional Information 3: 1344 Additional Information 4: 875fa2ef9d2bdca96466e8af55d1ae6e So, as I had read reports of this game being a buggy mess unupdated, I patched up to 1.4. Now, something completely different happened. I got a Blue Screen Of Death and, wait for it... IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. Now, is I understand it that means some kind of driver or program is trying to access something above it's priority levels. Bulldogs 10 Posted December 12, 2009 (edited) I can't help you with your snow patrol problem, but for the other problem... IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL errors usually mean either a problem with drivers or a piece of hardware (usually a card in the PCI slots). First try going into device manager and disable any device you don't need (sound cards, network cards, etc), then test, if it's still not working... If you're good with hardware I'd suggest taking your computer apart (leave the CPU and RAM in), remove all the PCI cards, unplug all the hard drives and optical drives, unplug all USB devices, then try pluggin in just the Video card, hard drive, optical drive keyboard and mouse. After that try running ArmA 2 to see if you get the same problem. The BSOD reporting an incorrect date could show another source of the problem. Check under Windows time to make sure it's set correctly, then check under BIOS time to make sure it's set correctly there too. If either is wrong then adjust. If the time in BIOS resets itself again then you'll need to replace your CMOS battery (it's about 25c from an electronics store) Edited December 12, 2009 by Bulldogs
Lordkil 10 Posted December 13, 2009 I can't help you with your snow patrol problem... Guh... Any way I shall try what you asked. I have had this IRQL problem before, but that was just random BSODs at any time so I rolled back my printer drivers as they were my most recent driver update. This time it happens only when I start Arma 2.
