Guest Posted November 25, 2001 I have an Hewlett Packard bout a year old. In OFP i dont hear people running like everyone else. Does anyone have an OEM comp (HP) and have all the sound. Is there someway without buying another sound card to get the sounds? (Edited by Intruder_14th at 9:50 am on Nov. 27, 2001)
RN Malboeuf 12 Posted November 25, 2001 you'll have to tell us what sound card you have and if there are any PCI slots open it being a HP might mean you have the Rockwell Sound/modem card wich is UDDER crap a new OEM SB live 5.1 Value card sells for $60 CND about $45 US it's pretty cheap and top of the line and if you still need the 56k you can leave it and disable it's sound but you'll be getting short on PCI slots HPs are crap for gaming and upgradablitly towards gaming
Intruder 14th 0 Posted November 25, 2001 Ok i have a soundblaster 5.1 but i get a NASTY irq conflict that messes all of my system devices and ide controllers. I ve tried to resolve it but every thing just goes to Crap. It doesnt seem to want to work with my Geforce 2. When i uninstall one or the other i dont have that conflict. But once i install both of thier drivers i get a horrible freeze and High pitch tone that hurts my ears. Do u know how i can resolve it .
