Alex72 1 Posted November 3, 2009 (edited) So i raised a ticket at DevHeaven about the UAV's lack of revealing targets in the latest build. Only 2 people voted on it (me and zGuba) so im taking it people just dont use UAV's that much or doesnt visit DH enough. Well i use the UAV in missions im building that has the SOM module plus another one with the Hi-Command module. Earlier versions of the game when i ordered a UAV it would reveal enemies and friendlies to me on the map (SOM), and with the Hi-Command module and a UAV under me would reveal enemies on screen (floating icons) plus on the map (markers - with enhanced map info). Since the new beta the UAV doesnt reveal anything at all. You can see it attack, but not give you any information about enemies. It will however give you info on your own troops wich was the case before as well. Also in the previous builds the UAV used through the SOM's support system had a green circle around it showing its scanning range. It is gone now in the latest beta, and im not sure if that was intentional however as it seems more realistic to not know its exact range. That is a change im all for, but calling a UAV to get info before going into an area and not get any enemy positions revealed at all feels like a bug or that something was left out/missed by BIS. Would be really nice to know if the UAV is supposed to be like this or not? The way it operates now renders it basically useless in SP. Only the hellfires it shoots has its use - but i rather add something else in my mission than the UAV if thats the case. Revealing enemies is its job and that it did good in all the earlier builds of the game. Link: SCREENSHOT In that image the UAV have been flying around and spotted all the enemies i placed in a lump long time ago. Not one of them are revealed to me and im the UAV's commander. I sent it in to get myself some info, but the UAV just wont give me any. Alex72 1 Posted November 7, 2009 Another bug found. Version 59928. When lasing somewhere UAV's go kamikaze. Tested calling UAV's through SOM module and each and everyone either just dives and crash or goes into a fierce spin and then crashes. I tested to lase in hope of getting the UAV to fire their hellfires, but they dive instead and crash. Sorry for double post, but this is a different issue. The second issue already has a ticket on DH: http://dev-heaven.net/issues/show/2436 That's the same bug as with the F-35.
