Stopping the ai engaging

I have some towers that are labelled as EAST.

However if i set an engage at will order the AI will waste all his LAWS shooting at this tower (he misses horribly).

I need to stop the AI seeing this tower as a target. Ive tried tower1 setcaptive true, but he still fires at it.

Any ideas?

Same problem here. just posted then noticed yours... smile.gif

Tried setting as "empty", didn't work. Tried grouping with various units and sides, didn't work. Tried the setcaptive thing, didn't work either.

Wonder what we're doing wrong?

They come prelabelled as East...like a BMP comes prelabled as east.

Can anyone suggest how to stop these being targets?

Are you using some addon ? Maybe there is bug in it.

Try to edit mission file mission.sqm and change side of towers from side="EAST"; to side="EMPTY";.

What makes it worse is...

The AI seems to see the woodtower in the wrong place....so when they shoot at it they dont even hit it.

They shoot about 100M behind it.

Yeah looks like it. Maybe there is a possibility to add a script which will initialize those two towers to be empty.

But the best way is just not use them at all if they cause so much headaches wink.gif

Not just towers, but camonets, sandbags and MASH tents. I'm not using any addons, but I have got between the lines- so might that be it?

It's really getting annoying when my BMPs take out a Vulcan that's in camo netting and then keep tryinkg to kill the netting afterwards... confused.gif

I've been experimenting a bit, and it seems that if you group them with a "GameLogic" object they're set to neutral.

Not an optimum fix, so if anyone else can find something better please let me know.
