Tethered/restricted Player controlled cammera

Recommended Posts

Well an idea sparked in my head after reading some of the trials and tribulations of those trying to work in an AC130, The idea is, attach fake guns (make it look realistic as possible, guns clipped into aircraft) Then Have the Co-Pilot's seat give a player in the seat an action to "Activate Targeting"

This is were my first question comes in.

The Targeting would use a camera attached to the side of the AC130 but it also needs to be able to be aimed by the player and with any luck it would have a restricted FOV (so the player could only aim it within certain vectors relative to the ac130)

now I'm certainly not asking for the math, but I don't quite know were to get started as far as attaching that camera AND having it aim-able. (restricted FOV would be very nice, but seems a bit hard)

for those of you wondering. Once the target cam has been activated, the player would have 3 new actions to fire either of the 3 guns, of course the 2 lighter guns would have a "toggle" action rather than 1 shot. Now the 3 guns to make the c130 look like the AC130 would NOT be the guns firing. Instead I'll spawn munitions in the air traveling in the vector provided by the camera. tada, fake AC130, with out (read; less) awkward restrictions. The addition of FLIR would even make it that much more "real" looking.
