Dogs of War : The green invasion!

Recommended Posts

Ok guys, I am at the point now when I am genuinely concerned.

I've been playing Dogs of War now for the last 11 hours, and I think it's broken. I've chased the Chedaki out of every town on the map, and slaughtered their base (by accident actually, I was just wondering why there was so many T-72s around :p

One reason I have taken so long to get to this point (aside from Razor members dying, 'fast' travel moving at a glacial pace, general reloading when my team mates flip their T-72s/do something else I didn't think possible), is that it takes me forever to capture anything. I've come across invisible men manning outpost defences preventing capture, men being about to spawn preventing capture, and just your average 'wtf why can't I capture this.'

As a result of this (and my resulting impaitience) is that NAPA controls most of the towns, as they just seem to roll in cap it instantly.

So my questions are as follows...

1. Do I need to find intel on this mission? Marny and the other CDF officer don't have anything to say to me (though I think they probably should), so I have no tasks at this point.

2. Do I have to flatten the Russians at the airbase?

3. Do I have to/can I re-capture the towns from NAPA?

Any help would be appreciated, as I am starting to think about re-starting the mission, and that's something I would rather not do lol

*Update*

Ok, so I bit the bullet and flattened the Russians under the treads of 13 T-72s, which finished the mission. Only the next mission isn't the one I want. After looking at a walkthrough for Dogs of War, it seems I have to be the one that captures Chernagorsk. Which now raises a new question.

Can I re-capture cities from NAPA?

I finished Dogs of War last night. I can confirm its not broken. I had problems with this campaign but I found out that by installing AMD Dual Core optimizer (Even on an AMD X4 and Windows 7 64bit is needed) and put the right settings in my ram trimmings, as my motherboard supports different settings for each module everything worked as it should. Note I killed Prizak in Badlands.

So what I do was:

-I let the AI command.

-I talk to Marny(near UAZ) after you I with commander and he old me to consecrate my efforts to capture Elektrozavodsk(not sure of the name of the Town)

-I took a UAZ and take each area in turn as ordered so I could make some money

-I took from a dead officer Night Vision goggles

-After Elektrozavodsk captured US marines contact me and gave me Troops to command in high command. They also gave me Lopotev position on an Island.

-I board in one of the US choppers with a lot of troops and landed to the Island and took Lopotev prisoner. After that I deliver it to the Russians and that made the Deal with the Russians complete as they were convinced to leave.

-I then I attack the Chedaki base in Mtsa and then Flawless Victory.

The campaign is simply amazing. I really enjoy it a lot and I am currently replaying it.

Edit: After installing 1.04 and latest beta I had to restart the Campaign to work as it should.

Cheers for the replies guys. I think the main problem I have now is that when NAPA captures something, even though they are on the same side as me, it doesn't trigger events like it should. So if I don't get to the town that triggers the Marines first, then I appear to be screwed. And as much fun as it was toasting the Russians (13 tanks + 4 BMP-2s lined up on a hill at the end of the runway, unsuspecting Russians are unsuspecting :D ), the

firey nuclear death

kind of put a downer on things lol

Maybe thats the case but the NAPA for me never went for Elektrozavodsk. If this doesn't trigger of course the campaign wont end as its Shaftoe that announce the win after you destroy the Chedaki base.
