Can't 'Buy Weapons' for Squad Members

I am in the Campaign missions, and I can't 'Buy Weapons' for squad members for some reason.

When I order a squad member to 'Buy Weapons' they come to me, and my 'Buy Weapons' screen shows up. How do I buy weapons for them?

What you can do is buy the weapon, drop it and tell them to pick it up.

Yes but also note that you must drop your own gear, otherwise the fantastic game mechanics will auto-sell whatever weapon in your slot
