IDEVILMANI 10 Posted September 22, 2009 First off, let me start off by saying that I am damn near new at playing computer games. I basically use my PS3 for gaming. However, I recently got a pimped out laptop for school and many clan mates and friends told me that I would like ARMA 2, as it is much like Socom. (where tactics pay off, no regenerating health, etc..) So here is a question. (I haven't installed it yet cause my laptop gets here later this week). Can you use a controller for this game. I was thinking of using my PS3 controller or getting a cheap PS2 looking controller. I only ask because I have been playing shooters for the past 10 years on consoles. I just like the controls with it. Yeah a mouse and keyboard can be more accurate, I am just used to a certain way things are. I mean looking at the keycard legend, obviously there would be things that I wouldn't be able to put on a controller. I just want the basics; Moving, aiming, shooting, voice chat, leaning, stance changing, and what ever else I could think of. So that being said. Can you use a Controller for basic functions? Demiurge 10 Posted September 22, 2009 It supports multiple controllers so you could have (and I do) a gamepad, wheel and joystick all bound and usable. 360 pads are supported by default complete with their own scheme built in.
Fudgeblood 10 Posted September 22, 2009 Yes you can, my friend uses the Controller often and it's good for driving/flying, but using it for Infantry will be a huge disadvantage.
Dead3yez 0 Posted September 22, 2009 I use 360 controller for driving only, sometimes flying helicopters too when I can't be bothered to grab my joystick. The controller scheme in general is OK for me.
