the iceman 0 Posted March 26, 2002 When i play the second single mission, my platoon lost almost every time all there men except myself. Then i get a radiomessage that i have to go back to base. But is it possible to finish the mission succesfully al by your self, or MUST you go back to base??
theavonlady 2 Posted March 26, 2002 This is "Ambush" - the original demo mission and still one of the best out there. Yes, you can finish with much of your squad intact. You'll have to be agressive yet not careless enough to get yourself killed. It's a great mission to practice with and try to improve your OFP playing abilities. Intruder 0 Posted March 26, 2002 This is the best mission. It really showed what OFP could do from the demo. When you take the second town, try to get all the retreating units. You should prevent the tanks from arriving, and you complete the mission by clearing the town. I've only done it like two or three times The rest of the time, I've had to retreat to the dustoff point.
Thomm 0 Posted March 26, 2002 You can also play it Rambo style by leaving the jeep and instead follow the road to get to the lower village. Start eliminating the opposition there. Use lots of grenades, accurate long range fire and scavenge RPGs to destroy the vehicles. After clearing that town you can either proceed to the other town up the hill or go back to the jeep. Either way, the rest of the enemies should be easy prey and your squad stays alive. Regards, Thomm
NIX 0 Posted March 26, 2002 I have been trying this one myself and have a question. What parameters does everyone set for brightness on their machines? I can see hardly 10 feet in front of me, let alone the "soldier at 11 oclock" like the CO keeps saying. Currently I have brightness at almost turned up all the way. Is it the same for everyone? Guest Posted April 1, 2002 re to nix: you probably have a ati (i bet). right-click on your desktop (or wallpaper) click 'properties', then a form(display properties) pops up. click 'settings', then 'advanced' hope you now got 'color' avaliable. there are some sliders, these you have to set for lighter screen. these setting should now also do thier effect in the game. Mask 0 Posted April 1, 2002 Yes this mission is one of the best. Here u find everything combined. Camera views, conversations, music, great battle, etc..... And this mission is a good practice indeed, it is great that BIS have included this mission in the demo. . And the game itself rules!
