yellowmosquito 10 Posted September 17, 2009 Since the devs don't seem to be giving the mulitplayer coop campaign any attention, I thought we could all tell our stories of how our multiplayer coop campaigns with our friends broke. For those of you who don't yet know, any type of saving or resuming of a mission while in Multiplayer coop campaign will render the game unplayable and cause all sorts of absurd errors...not unlike a bad acid trip in Las Vegas. So post your stories here! ---------- Post added at 03:12 AM ---------- Previous post was at 03:09 AM ---------- I'll go first... We upgraded to patch v1.04 in hopes that the multiplayer coop campaing had been fixed. Nope! Patch v1.04 seemed to actually increase the hilarity. A) unlike patch 1.03, patch 1.04 erased all current campaign missions - We issued a collective moan as we realized that we would be suffering through all of the heli-crashing, desynching fun again. B) Being forced to restart, we attempted the starting carrier mission three times, all unsuccessfully. This is what happened each time. 1) We were unable to talk to the commander to proceed. Oh well, decided to try again. 2) Same issue as before, no guy to talk to. We ended up shooting each other out of pure frustration and we were forced to start over. 3) During the masterfully annoying turn out the lights cutscene, my character got up and decided to walk directly at the screen....on his own. He became disloged in the corner, and when I got him out, the main door to the room wouldn't open. My friend managed to get the back door open, and while he couldn't talk to the bridge guard, he was able to put his hands behind his head uncomfortably close to his face. We've decided to shelve this game indefinitely...such a shame.
yellowmosquito 10 Posted September 17, 2009 Update: When i couldn't escape the room, I just alt-tabbed ARMA2, and launched the next game we were playing instead. Honestly, I forgot it was running. Four hours later, after we were calling it a night, I realized that ARMA2 was still running! I went back into the program, and much to my suprise: I had completed the first mission!! And I never even left the briefing room (or played the mission for that matter) ! Simply amazing....I couldn't make this stuff up if I wanted to.
bhaz 0 Posted September 17, 2009 I successfully completed the campaign in co-op, though I had to finish the 3rd mission in single player before the fourth would unlock, but the rest went along smoothly, we were even loading our saves. Though, I was using Alt to look around and give orders, got as far as F4, but that's just me being broken.

Yes, the non-campaign multiplayer is very fun, but come on! Have you tried the multiplayer coop campaign yet? It would only work if the music they chose was yakety saks.
