Selecting a target with HELLFIRE.

Recommended Posts

Hi,

When I have an American UAV (MQ-9) and want to select armored vehicles with the hellfire missles it doesn't let me. I right click on the targets, but in place of that it changes the view type (from first person to 3rd person, same function as ENTER in default). How can this issue be resolved.

This problem also occurs with most other air units. Note that I tried to change controls with no success.

I hope to hear from you soon. Thanks in advance.

Kind regards,

Mab

If memory serves, I think you press Tab to select targets - can't check at the moment. Try the tutorials, it showed you how to do it in there.

Thanks for your reply.

I tried that. However that doesn't always work. Example (just tested with 2 APCs and 2Urals): It did select two APCs, but it wouldn't select the 2 Urals. I don't know why. The pilot did 3 fly overs.

I'm not sure then - have you had a look through your controls options and key bindings to see if there are any clues in there?

Dave

Edit - actually, looking at your first post I think you already did!

Got the same problem and its really annoying...Many times the target system does NOT lock on the target,if it does not if range to target is less then 1500meters.Not pretty realistic at all...

Eh...just found the problem....Its more like a bug...Its the viewdistance. Also its pretty weird, cause if always detect the enemy but cant lock on.if u turn the view distance up u will see it works 99%....

A little off topic, but I'ld love to find out how you are piloting the mq-9.

I just tried this myself and had the same results. I don't know if it's a bug or intentional but it seems anything in the cars category cant be locked on by a hellfire with Tab, only by centering the crosshair on the vehicle and right-clicking. I don't remember having this problem in 1.02.

-edit- helicopter guns are also changed or bugged. Gunners are automatically targeting things even if you have manual fire turned on, and you can no longer Tab-target cars when the gun is selected.

Another thing, you can eject from the UAV, and you get a soldier with a parachute. Its an UNMANNED aerial vehicle, so the operators are not in the plane, but at an operating center remote controlling the UAV.

Am I wrong?
