Video Settings Not Being Saved

Recommended Posts

I made changes to video settings and clicked the OK button and the settings are not saved after I exit and re-run the game.

No it is not. However, my My Documents\ARMA 2 is actually on my network drive. I am a software developer / gamer and I have Windows 2008 Server Running as a domain controller and all of my documents are saved with my roaming profile (on the server) and I wonder if it is a security related issue.

I have had issues with other games/programs in the past and there is no easy way for me to revert back to the old My Documents on my local drive. Is there a way I can tell ARMA 2 to point to an ARMA2.cfg on my local drive?

Also, one thing I failed to mention is that I purchased the game through Steam (http://store.steampowered.com/) and I am not sure where it put the ARMA2.CFG file.

Could try:

-cfg=C:\arma2.cfg

(contrins resoultion , render resolution etc)

same for profile for your arma profile, with other video settings in.

No guarantees.

Your command line suggestion (lauching ARMA2 with command line switch in my shortcut) did create an ARMA2.CFG on my C:\ drive, however, ARMA2 still does not load my preferred settings. It still loads the video defaults even after I change them and click OK and exit the game.

I've heard of others having issues with running off networked drives. My guess is that the DC is blocking the games write access. You should be able to grant access on both ends by allowing it in your roaming prof or by allowing it access domain wide (not sure if you're the DC admin, otherwise get your DC admin to allow it access)
