rmcrob 10 Posted July 31, 2009 Pardon the question from an absolute newbie. I'm new to ArmA II; really, I'm new to military gaming altogether. An old man who is as green as they come. I've been enjoying the forum and just kind of playing around with the game. What I would love to do is play the game as if I were a general sending commands from HQ. Is that possible? If so, how can I do it? Thanks.
Jonnytullwood 10 Posted July 31, 2009 The best way i can think of is in the editor set down your player unit then set down a bunch of sqauds of whatever you want.Just not grouped to you, then go to modules and set down a high commander box then use the synchronize function(F5) and drag a line from it to the unit your controlling. So then when you go into the mission or preview press ctrl+spacebar and a bunch of icons should show up each one representing a group. Its a really cool function about arma 2 you can easily control up to a hundred or more AI but there are some bugs with it so just play around with it abit. l mandrake 9 Posted July 31, 2009 The best mission for playing as a 'general' is IMO CRCTI Warfare - here you can take command of 10 AI squads, micromanaging their waypoints and equipment, it is really an excellent experience.
