Direct 3d issue on an nvidia 8800gtx

I recently installed the new Nvidia driver and for some reason this error message pops up when i try to start ArmA 2 "Error creating Direct3D 9 Graphical engine". I then rolled back to the previous driver and restarted my computer, but the message still appears, anyone know what the problem could be?

Did you:

1. Uninstall drivers
   
2. Reboot to safe mode
   
3. Run Driver Sweeper Pro or Driver Cleaner
   
4. Reboot to regular Windows
   
5. Deactivate virus scanners
   
6. Install new drivers
   
7. Reboot
   

That may sound like a pain in the ass, but it often proves the necessary way to ensure your drivers are being installed properly and that all traces of previous ones have been removed.
