Ish 11 Posted July 7, 2009 So I bought the boxed version as it was cheaper, and was released over a week earlier. I didn't think I could add it to steam with it's key. Which it didn't. However. I was a bit disappointed when I added the boxed version as a "non-steam" game. When I launch it, I can't use the "join" button on friends, and it just says I'm playing a non-steam game. Not ArmA2 .. Any way to fix this? I mean since steam is free, it's stupid not too allow this imo.
spamurai 3 Posted July 7, 2009 Steam usually marks you as in a Non-Steam Game... but to your friends it usually states the name of the shortcut you used to launch the game.
Ish 11 Posted July 7, 2009 Hm, never thought of that, maybe it does. But more importantly, i can't use the context menu's all functions, join game being the most annoying one.
spamurai 3 Posted July 8, 2009 "Join Game" function would be great, so would being able to use the Steam Browser to search for ArmA2 matches instead of the native GAYmespay browser. However, I pretty sure those are more Valve things then BIS things. Would be nice though if the 2 of them got together and made it work.
Ish 11 Posted July 8, 2009 I'm sure it's a steam thing. Seems to be CD key related since it wont accept my key. ---------- Post added at 03:13 AM ---------- Previous post was at 02:58 AM ---------- Q: Can we use our retail keys to register on Steam? A: TBD, TBA Source: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=904059 Soo.. What does TBD stand for?
