Duxa 10 Posted July 7, 2009 So... ive tried this with 3 different people. Im the leader, there are 3 of us. All real life players. F1 is me F2 is player 2 and F3 is player 3. So I press F2 and F3 and point to the ground then click mouse button it puts a marker for them to move to. However.. if I do the same but insatead point at an enemy soldier or armor or whatnot... my character will say "Attack that <whatever it is>" but the other players wont see anything marked. ive tried this with soldiers, armor and helicopters... is this a bug? or am I doing something wrong? Alex72 1 Posted July 7, 2009 So you play on beginner right? As you want markers to show. If you are with players then why dont you communicate with them giving them the target location? This is by far the funniest way of playing. But ok you want the easy setting. Maybe go through the difficulty setting and set everything to ENABLE? Ive seen images with names and icons over enemies heads. Wouldnt recommend it though. Wheres the fun in knowing exactlly where everyone is? :) Test enable everything in difficulty and see if it helps. Alex

Alex I dont think its the difficulty setting, because when AI is a squad leader and they do it, then it marks them... =/ And even with marking you dont really "know" where they are.. because it only shows last known position. In real life you could motion with your hand, without having to say anything where the guy is... you cant do that in ARMA, so instead you have to try to explain it based on environment.. and saying something like "to the right of that black rock!" they could be looking at another rock than you are.. or hill or whatnot. Id rather kinda motion towards last known position :) I really want to figure this out... i wonder if its a bug =/
jch5pilot 10 Posted July 7, 2009 Hello, Just a thought. You might have everything enabled in your difficulty options, but do the people you are playing with also have those options enabled? I once hosted a game and a friend of mine joined. One of us could use 3rd person, the other couldn't, indicating that it could be client side related. As I said - just a thought! I'm not quite sure what things are strictly set and enforced on the server side, so it is probably worth a try and asking them. James

James Pretty sure its enforced because I disabled crosshair and 3rd person and all the guys that im playing with dont have them either. So it definatelly goes off the host. ajsarge 10 Posted July 8, 2009 Yes, but if you allow it, and they have it disabled, it will be disabled for them. You can allow things, but clients can disable them for themselves.
