Setup heavy weapons

Recommended Posts

Help! I need scripts! If I was competent enough, I’d write these myself, but obviously I’m not, or otherwise I wouldn’t be looking for someone to kindly cook these ideas and make them a reality for the community. I feel that these scripts would be ones that would be highly valued by a sizeable portion of mission editors, either for ArmA or ArmA II. Please, if you can help make these concepts come true, it would be deeply appreciated!

Any decent missions that I make would be publicly released featuring these scripts.

SETUP HEAVY WEAPONS

Is it possible to generate a script that whenever danger is detected at a sufficient distance a team of 2-3 infantry could setup a heavy weapon (7.62 mm machinegun on tripod, .50 cal. machinegun on tripod, belt-fed grenade launcher on tripod) to repulse the attack? The mission designer could set the maximum number of randomly assigned teams that could do this (default setting: 1). The time it would take to deploy the system would be based on the AI’s level of combat experience, from as short as 45 sec. to as long as 4 min. The AIs combat experience could also determine how smart they are as to when they choose to try setting up the system. Meaning, the dumber the AI, the more likely they are to be caught vulnerable before they have finished setting up the system. Also, the more experienced the AI are, the smaller the team requirement to setup the system; the minimum is always two men, but for low-level AI it could be as high as four. It would be ideal if we could see the system being assembled, or see it slowly “rise†out of the ground; when it’s at full height, it’s ready to be fired. Regardless of experience level, the system would always be deployed towards the direction of greatest threat.

Thank you for your consideration!
