Tsujen 0 Posted November 15, 2001 My Monitor is very dark, so I have to have all my 3D settings pretty bright, just to see normaly. When I launch OFP, it doesn't load my 3D card settings, It seems to load some default, and the game is so dark, I can't see half the missions. I can't even see the ground in front of me. All I see is the sky. The gamma and brightness are maxed. Is there anyway to get to a command prompt to enter gamma settings? Please help. Thanks.
RN Malboeuf 12 Posted November 16, 2001 try the brightness on your monitor and get the latest drivers for it (Edited by RN Malboeuf at 9:11 am on Nov. 25, 2001)
Cantata 0 Posted November 16, 2001 Yeah, I noticed last night that I can no longer use Hardware T&L with my GeForce 2 MX card. I can highlight the setting, but I cannot turn it on. It worked fine in 1.2x throughout all the patches, but not after 1.3 which kind of sucks. It would also seem that the game is running somewhat slower than normal, but this may be due to my video card not being utilized properly by the game. Anyway, heads up BIS. Jusupov 0 Posted November 25, 2001 Way too dark... Newest drivers for Radeon 8500, monitor is set to max brightness, powerstrips gamma settings are to the max.. and still I cant see anything else except the sky. The game reverts back to some default settings and ignores mine.
Unl33t 0 Posted November 25, 2001 I think the only way to increase it is to go into Properties on the desktop Settings then Advanced/Color Correction Move those bars up to make your screen look f**king awfull but at least you can see it.

Unl33t 0 Posted November 25, 2001 Is your monitor just dark or is it very old? Because i had a 14' for 5 years or so that got so dark i just had to replace it. You may have to do the same. If it's the monitor thats making it dark not the game.

Rest of the games I play don't ignore the settings I've made in windows. Can someone suggest some other programs besides powerstrip to configure gamma settings? Unl33t 0 Posted November 25, 2001 It seems like OFP ignores Windows Gamma settings. I have no further advice for you, Sorry.
theavonlady 2 Posted November 25, 2001 Have any of you tried upping OFP's brightness and gamma settings under OPTIONS>VIDEO OPTIONS, from OFP's main menu?

morbid 0 Posted November 25, 2001 I have the same problem except with most of my games, not just ofp. Strangely though, I don't recall having this problem with windows 98. (I'm using xp just now).
Jusupov 0 Posted November 25, 2001 Hmm.. made some drastic stuff. Don't know which one of them did it but now I can make out almost everything. But if I go to the video settings the game goes back to dark.
RN Malboeuf 12 Posted November 25, 2001 dont you guys have a brightness turner on your monitor?
Majick103 0 Posted November 25, 2001 Hi there, yes we got the monitor fully tuned. it seems Jusupov has got exactly the same problem; "But if I go to the video settings the game goes back to dark". even when everything is turned up, the screen goes back to being dark. Jusupov: does this occur also on Realplayer when playing a video??

RN Malboeuf 12 Posted November 25, 2001 that does not matter, what is so hard in turning up the brightness on your monitor? I can crank mine so much that night ops or blacked out lighting in OFP becomes day, and I still have lots to go I dont even need Night vision thats why I think you just need to turn it up OFP uses alot more things when it comes to graphics, any little problem with drivers will be amplified
Jusupov 0 Posted November 30, 2001 Aahhh... Rage3d rocks. I just disabled Game Gamma from it's DirectX tab and now everything works perfectly.
Majick103 0 Posted November 30, 2001 hi jusupov, what is rage3d? what did you do precisely? please inform. majick
Jusupov 0 Posted November 30, 2001 http://www.rage3d.com Download their tweaker and fiddle around with it. I also suggest enabling those keyboard shortcuts to change gamma/contrast/other while in game.
