Still too dark!

Recommended Posts

My Monitor is very dark, so I have to have all my 3D settings pretty bright, just to see normaly. When I launch OFP, it doesn't load my 3D card settings, It seems to load some default, and the game is so dark, I can't see half the missions. I can't even see the ground in front of me. All I see is the sky. The gamma and brightness are maxed. Is there anyway to get to a command prompt to enter gamma settings? Please help.

Thanks.

Yeah, I noticed last night that I can no longer use Hardware T&L with my GeForce 2 MX card. I can highlight the setting, but I cannot turn it on. It worked fine in 1.2x throughout all the patches, but not after 1.3 which kind of sucks.

It would also seem that the game is running somewhat slower than normal, but this may be due to my video card not being utilized properly by the game. Anyway, heads up BIS. smile.gif

Way too dark... Newest drivers for Radeon 8500,

monitor is set to max brightness, powerstrips gamma settings are to the max.. and still I cant see anything else except the sky. The game reverts back to some default settings and ignores mine.

I think the only way to increase it is to go into Properties on the desktop

Settings then Advanced/Color Correction

Move those bars up to make your screen look f**king awfull but at least you can see it.

Is your monitor just dark or is it very old?

Because i had a 14' for 5 years or so that got so dark i just had to replace it.

You may have to do the same. If it's the monitor thats making it dark not the game.

Its not because of the monitor. And all the drivers have had the same problem, for me atleast. Rest of the games I play don't ignore the settings I've made in windows. Can someone suggest some other programs besides powerstrip to configure gamma settings?

It seems like OFP ignores Windows Gamma settings.

I have no further advice for you, Sorry.

Have any of you tried upping OFP's brightness and gamma settings under OPTIONS>VIDEO OPTIONS, from OFP's main menu?

I have the same problem except with most of my games, not just ofp.

Strangely though, I don't recall having this problem with windows 98. (I'm using xp just now).

Hmm.. made some drastic stuff. Don't know which one of them did it but now I can make out almost everything. But if I go to the video settings the game goes back to dark.

Hi there, yes we got the monitor fully tuned. it seems Jusupov has got exactly the same problem; "But if I go to the video settings the game goes back to dark".

even when everything is turned up, the screen goes back to being dark.

Jusupov: does this occur also on Realplayer when playing a video??

Realplayer sucks.. I never use it so I dont know. But now I've been able to play, the darkness is gone.

Why do you insist it's a monitor problem? No other games are doing the thing.

that does not matter, what is so hard in turning up the brightness on your monitor?

I can crank mine so much that night ops or blacked out lighting in OFP becomes day, and I still have lots to go

I dont even need Night vision

thats why I think you just need to turn it up

OFP uses alot more things when it comes to graphics, any little problem with drivers will be amplified
