datter 0 Posted July 3, 2009 (edited) My current system: Q6600 2.4ghz overclocked to 3.3ghz (very stable)2gb OCZ Reaper 9600 ram nVidia BFG 8800GT OC2 x2 in SLI WinXP Pro SP3 As these 8800GT's are beginning to get a bit old as far as computers go, I'm wondering if anyone has any opinions on this GT275. Do you suppose I'll be looking at a huge performance boost compared to the dual 8800's, a moderate one, or something about the same as what I've got going now? Thanks for any input. datter Cave of Distraction Your Thread Sucks Edited July 3, 2009 by datter
ste4lth004 10 Posted July 3, 2009 No, i think you would be around same performance or a bit less, wait for next lot of cards m8, i think my 285 is about same as 2 8800gts, so 275 is not worth it.
datter 0 Posted July 3, 2009 That's sort of what I've been thinking, but I haven't found any real world situations where someone has tested one against the other. Thanks for the opinion.
Starfire 10 Posted July 3, 2009 It seems Arma II is having some problems with Nvidia cards based on the 2xx architecture, so I'd definitely stick with your 8800GT SLi for now. Upgrading your CPU (and maybe dropping in another gig of ram) would probably do more to boost your performance.
