DaveSivill 10 Posted June 29, 2009 Not only do I get terrible frame rate, I have also started getting graphical glitches, textures dissapear, it loads the LOD textures for the floor, so it looks like im standing about 100ft above the ground looking down at it, the whole screen goes blurry, helicopters etc have no rotors, random shapes appear and the frame rate of the game NEVER goes about 20fps. No matter what settings I use, it stays exactly the same. System Specs: -Asus M2N-E Sli Green Edition -AMD Athlon 6400+ Dual Core "Black Edition" -Nvidia 8800GTX 512mb vram -4gb DDR2 RAM -Soundblaster Audigy 4 SE -Samsung 32" TV -Windows XP 32bit Running all the very latest hardware drivers and using the latest 1.2.5 patch. Really don't know what to do to fix this, if there even is a fix, might just have to wait for another patch. Probably going to avoid Bohemia after this, its kinda ridiculous. Anyone got any ideas? I also managed to capture a print screen of one of the glitches when I was on the main menu just about to change graphics options. (hadn't changed any at the time the glitch happened) http://img7.imageshack.us/img7/1158/hmmmkwx.jpg
Bulldogs 10 Posted June 29, 2009 I'm sure you don't usually run with those settings but I'm just wondering how you manage to get over 20fps with a 8800gtx on those settings, it's a little bit of an old card, and I've noticed users reporting that they struggle with those settings on superior cards like the 4870. A few others users recently fixed a similar issue by reinstalling the game, using driver removal and installing slightly older Nvida drivers, and in some cases it took an entire OS restore, but I'd suggest looking at the other threads to see which driver version they used (check the GTX 2xx fix threads) Other than that, I'm not sure if you're running HDMI to the TV but I've never testing on 720 or 1080 so not sure how Arma 2 would handle on that, or if it may raise problems. MPBR 10 Posted June 29, 2009 Looks like artifacts from an overheating video card. Yup either Overheationg of card, or card has been damaged. And wow.. tring to run Vhigh with your specs..:confused: Fire it up again, but run a GPU temp monitor program and see what its getting to.
