Random large polygons on screen during game play

During the game large flashing polygons appear on screen, making it unplayable:

I have an older PC but it plays all other recent games (Conflict, COD4/5, Crysis, Far Cry, etc.) without issues.

Pentium 4 3GHz

4GB RAM

ATI Radeon X1950 Pro

I have the latest service packs and video drivers.

I tried various video quality settings but the result is always the same.

Any ideas on how to resolve this?

Thats called artifacting. Its caused by a variety of things, overheating, bad drivers duff memory etc.

If you do a serach for artifacts on these forums you might find some answers.

Run 3dmark to see if you get the same thing, but it's most likely a damaged video card or overheating vid card, could be drivers, but Arma 2 likes to put a lot of strain on your card so try 3d mark, run it continuously for a few hours and see if you get similar glitches.
