sobrek 0 Posted June 22, 2009 (edited) First of all I know, that that FSAA thing is not fully developed yet. I just want to write that down, so there is a chance it gets fixed. I' running a Zotac Geforce GTX 280 Amp! wit 4 Gig of RAM and an E8600 (2x3.333 GHz) on Vista x64. The current Nvidia driver is, 186.18, but the Beta version before was the same. When I activate FSAA - and the exact value plays no role - I have a dark circle around the camera position, normally myself. Outside, everything is a lot brighter than inside. I have tried to mark the border and effect here. This becomes even worse in darkness. You virtually can't see anything around you. The strange thing is, this only happens, when the shadow setting is disabled or normal. Just in the moment, when you switch to high or very high shadows, the area around you lights up, but the framrate drops significantly. I have recorded some steps, see my other settings there. http://files.excaliba.de/arma/schatten1.jpg http://files.excaliba.de/arma/schatten2.jpg http://files.excaliba.de/arma/schatten3.jpg http://files.excaliba.de/arma/schatten4.jpg http://files.excaliba.de/arma/schatten5.jpg The next strange thing is, you can switch off shadows then, and it stays bright, use Shift"-"flush, the light's switched off. /e#2 And shadows seem to have another effect. If I keep them high, and stand there in a car, and do nothing, the grass is just swaying in the wind, after a few seconds, the framerate drops from above 30, down to even below 10 for a bit more than a second, and then goes up again to the previous high value. This keeps repeating endlessly, and I cannot see any cause for it. /e#3-ok, got at least this one, were thinking about it for two days now. Its the sum of fsaa + shadow + water. The framedrop is just following the waves. If there is no water nearby, it's gone. Edited June 22, 2009 by sobrek
