tomchick 10 Posted June 20, 2009 So I'm trying to figure out how to play ArmA II without the benefit of a manual. The boot camp tutorials help. However, there's a lot of info missing on how to best use the squad commands and the communications menu. For instance, I'd like to be able to give my driver a series of waypoints, since he needs all the help he can get when it comes to staying on the road. Can someone walk me through how to do this? I can easily enough give him a "Move there" destination way across the map, but we'll usually end up with a flipped vehicle tangled up in a mess of trees or buildings somewhere. (Also, bonus question: How do I repair vehicles? I've got a wheeled APC with a couple of blown tires. Calling for a repair truck from the support menu returns some sort of "response not found" debug text.) -Tom
frederf 0 Posted June 21, 2009 I believe the answers to your questions are "you can't" and "you can't." Putting your drive on mode>safe should make them stick to roads better. You have to trust they'll get their of their own intelligence. To get a repair truck you need a support vehicle that is currently in support mode. You can place a support class vehicle and give it a "support" waypoint type. It'll wait at the waypoint and listen for calls. When called it drives exactly to the spot the caller called for support and wait until it is dismissed. Back in ArmA1 it wouldn't return back to its "home" spot between calls so they usually get blown up waiting forever at the front lines after being dismissed.
