ogre h 0 Posted November 27, 2001 Every time I complete the Return To Eden, capture the Airfield mission, my game crashes to Windows when I hit the Continue button. I'm running OFP version 1.3, Win Me, DX 8.1 on a PIV with A Geforce 2 Ultra, 256mb Ram, 40GB HD, Turtle Beach Soundcard. Windows is managing my swap file, my texture and Heap files are set to maximum and my video card is set to hardware T&L. I'd appreciate any help in solving this problem. ogre h 0 Posted November 30, 2001 OK, I took my user folder, and copied it on to a machine that had OFP 1.26 installed. The mission ended successfully, and I was allowed to advance. That system was a PIII 733, 128 Ram Elsa Gladiac Geforce 2. Looks like it could be a bug in 1.

ogre h 0 Posted December 2, 2001 I tried resetting the swap file, and no joy. Mission completes and then crashes to desktop. The mission is now that Hind Hunting Mission, since I was able to complete Return to Eden with version 1.26 on another machine. So my problem is not mission specific. theavonlady 2 Posted December 2, 2001 Search The FAQ for "ctd". It could be one of the many known causes of crash-to-desktops. (Edited by theavonlady at 9:58 am on Dec. 2, 2001)
MaxDamage 0 Posted December 2, 2001 Same problem for me (and others). I have tried everything suggested in The Avon Lady's FAQ, but to no avail. Anyway, check "Red Hammer v1.30 all gone tits up" for details.
ogre h 0 Posted December 2, 2001 Yeah, I went through the FAQ too. The solution is not there I guess I'll play Black Thorn until BIS releases a patch to fix this.

Did you try manually setting your virtual swap file's maximum size to 1000? If that doesn't help and if it seems that corrupt files are the culprit, you should do a full reinstall. Search The FAQ for "reinstall". Those of you with CTDs at mission end, check this crazy thread, pointed out above by MaxDamage.
