dayglow 2 Posted March 7, 2002 I was just thinking on how OFP could be made more interesting. I'm not sure if this could be done, but the idea of a mission in a non-combat zone would be interesting. I can remember the old flightsim Fleet Defender from Micropose some of the campaignes started off during peace, (hi-tension opposing forces facing each other, but the political sit-rep was there wasn't a war going on) and you had to escort or protect forces in the face of a hostile that could shoot you at any moment. This could add a lot of tension in the game. Have a unit, non-combatants, etc wander into a demiltitrized zone or have to get a embassy staff out of a rapidly degrading situation. What is threating to you and your men, do you shoot and eslate the conflict? Just a thought and could be a good ploy to start off a campaign with. Tovarish 0 Posted March 7, 2002 I remember that game and I loved it. Nothing like Buzzing a chinese Su-27 or firing warning shots between two Iranian MiG-29's. Every mission where you had to intercept bogeys, you didn't know if the engagement would turn "hot" or not, many times you just buzzed e'm, fired warning shots and they'd go home, or just fly wherever they were going and not threaten any friendlies...or you'd see them break off in different directions and turn towards you and then you knew you were in for a dogfight . Toughest part was following the ROE. I remember loosing a campaign because my idiot wingman took it upon himself to down an Iranian Jetliner Wish there were more games like this, never seen one like it since
