Kegetys is a brilliant modder, however that looks like a rather simple passive map display that just happens to be wedge shaped and green. It might even be using the map data to generate the image instead of it being a "static" picture. If the BIS devs had provided custom cockpit and HUD gauge writing tools from Day 1, you'd see a lot more things like that only better.

Overall I have to agree completely with your "logic modules" comment. The more open and accessible the code is, the more modders can fill in where the vanilla game comes up short. What's sad is that there are some very old and avoidable engine limitations that we are still limited by that were in OFP 1.0.
