select all key not working ingame

Hello,

I am trying to get some in game keys working. I have had the issue for a while now but didnt think too much of it as i thought it may have been a glitch as it 'used' to work prior to a reinstall of vista. i had to again reinstall my operating system, as i have a new motherboard, however the problem still exists on this new install

I am using razor lycosa keyboard and the default keys in arma. And the 'select all' key does not select all in game. The other key that does not function as it should is the 'salute key' these are the two i have noticed that i cannot use in game. So i started investigating.

when i go into the options - controls to change the ingame key settings for a particular action, i select something to assign an action to, for example 'fast forward', if i select the keybind to add to the action fast forward.

If i select ` the word Kanji appears

If i select \ then the ] appears.

If i select ] then the [ appears

If i select [ then & comes up.

If i select ' then " comes up

if i select = the word 'previous track' appears

All other keys do as they should in game. it is only these 6 I have found so far the do not do as they should in game. they do however do as they should within windows. example `\]['=

ingame in the chat program they appear normally as

` \ ] [ ' =

although in the keyboard settings in the control options of arma it appears as

kanji ] [ & " previous track

The game is the sprocket version of arma gold. patched to 1.16 (issue occured in 1.15 as well)

My language and region settings are set to English, Australia,

My keyboard is set to US

the operating system is Vista64, I am not using the razor lycosa keyboard driver that comes on the cd with the keyboard, however the problem occurs with or without driver and applet installed as i have tried it previously. the driver that i am using is standard microsoft HID Keyboard device driver version 6.0.6001.18000 and no later driver exists.

I am really posting here because i saw a friend with the same keyboard salute at me in game, and i couldn't salute back. Also the problem occurs in VBS2 in the same circumstances.

Im stumped, has anyone any idea of what is going on, Or has anyone even SEEN this problem before.i have tried this with no mods and with mods

any help you guys could shed on this would be VERY appreciated.

Hi Again.

I found what was causing it. I have a Microsoft IR media centre remote control in the machine that I only use 'sometimes'.

When that is plugged in it lists three devices in the device manager of vista.

+Keyboards

-Microsoft eHome MCIR 109 Keyboard

-Microsoft eHome MCIR Keyboard

-Microsoft eHome Remote Control Keyboard keys

Even though I don't have the 'keyboard' part it still somehow messes with my games keys.

After removing this unit from the USB port and restarting the computer Arma's in game keys work as they should.

It was so simple in the end, I feel a bit silly now. I hope it helps any one else that may have this issue. Now I can salute and sit down to my hearts content.
