theavonlady 2 Posted March 5, 2002 BIS, could it be that there's a pirate shipment of OFP Gold packages that is hitting the market and imperfect CD copying is what causing the numerous reports coming in about problems with TMP file failures on startup? ralphwiggum 6 Posted March 5, 2002 hmmm....good theory....if it's true, then my suspects would be... MOHAA: although it brings great atmosphere, it's still not as realistic as OFP. RCTW: thinks having zombies should be better tha OFP's reality CS: doesn't want it's players to switch to OFP for it's realism USMC: doesn't want a good number of public to get something closer to their game. good point AvonLady. eversince OFP became famous, bootleggers might be trying this. OFP still has a lot of ppl who doesn't know it's existence, thus bigger potential market.
theavonlady 2 Posted March 5, 2002 Of course, this could also be a genuine batch of newly stamped OFP CDs that were impoperly produced. It doesn't necessarily take a pirate to mess up production with SAFEDISC2 on the CD.

ExLaX 0 Posted March 5, 2002 I bought the game yesterday and got that problem (and am so far unable to fix it). Polysoldat had a good post on what Tech Support had to say about it.

theavonlady 2 Posted March 6, 2002 Now, there will be three solutions to this: 1. A patch to fix the problem. I doubt this. 2. A patch to bypass SAFEDIS2 - an official noCD crack. 3. Recalling all the defective CDs and replacing them. You know, like GM does with cars. Wonder what happened to the employees at CM who prepared the CDs and the QA folks who tested them out? SAFEDISK is painful device, but makes sure no bootlegs are made. and about CM guys and QA guys we can all get our favorite rifles and put them on the lciff located at west of Malden, let them stand there, watch sunset, and you know what comes nxt...
