allthumbs 0 Posted October 2, 2008 Here is my old rig P4 3.0 w/ht 2 gig ram nvidia 6800 vanilla 128mb I am using GRAA 3.0 I am trying to determine what kind of view distance setting I can expect with my setup. It's an old game but some settings are still too high for me to use (like terrain detail at the highest = no fricken way! I have been farting around with like 1500. I also have the shadows turned off as my card hates them. Any help is welcome!
anguis 4 Posted October 2, 2008 I run it @ 1200m view distance. 1600x1200 high terrain detail all shadows on (at lowest detail, though) frame rate=30 visual quality=0.005000 dxdll running I drop shadows and terrain detail before view distance, as conditions warrant. . . allthumbs 0 Posted October 2, 2008 Is the "visual quality" slider automatically set based on the values you have entered in the preferences, or is there a manual purpose for it?
anguis 4 Posted October 2, 2008 It's listed in the userinfo.cfg file in C:\Program Files\Codemasters\Operation Flashpoint\Users\(your user name) - I set it manually.
allthumbs 0 Posted October 2, 2008 I guess I meant the slider in the games regular "Options" menu.
anguis 4 Posted October 2, 2008 Ah, I understand, now. I think it gets set when you run Autodetect, but you can set it manually, too.
