Just send i0n0s a PM and ask him.

Or better yet, just click on the "3D Controller" in his first post of the RTE4 thread. It's underlined/hyper-linked in the sentence: "You also can use the 3D Controller by LowFly to capture the string."

Then scroll down to the 2nd section of the web page titled "3D Controller". Look directly below that title for the little "download". That's it.

The website is in German, i think, but the section title and "download" link is in English and easy to spot.

I've posted a link in the RTE-thread.

But there is no use in the upcoming RTE-version because I changed the method of exporting to another (better) way.

Then you are truly blind.

Go to the first post of the RTE4 thread.

Below the second picture is a section called "How to export:". Look at the last sentence of this section. Click on the underlined "3D Controller". Then continue on from there.

Here is the actual sentence:

From section titled "How to export:"

"...........What I forgot in the readme about the export:

You also can use the 3D Controller by LowFly to capture the string."

Again, just click on the 3D Controller

Quote[/b] ]I don't know if the program is translated to English. If not, here is a little introduction:

After starting the program, a new icon in the taskbar will appear. Right click on it and select "Optionen". In the following dialog unselect "Script Datei (*.sqs):" and select only "Mission Datei (*.sqm):". Then you have to adjust the path to your mission file ("Pfad zum Mission Ordner:").

Oh, under Extra->Sprache you can switch to English, so it should be easier to use it.

Well iOnOs i think there was more to it then that, i did unselect .sqs and selected the sqm and i made the path way for this

C:\Documents and Settings\josh\My Documents\ArmA Other Profiles\LCpl%2e%20DarkSide%20Six\MPMissions\test%20editor.Sara

then started arma through the small icon on bottom right went into host editor to find if anything changed and nothin. So i think there got to be more then that confused_o.gif.

Could it be possible that you haven't understood the 3D Controller is for?

It only watches for a specific string in the clipboard. If he found that string, he edits the sqs and sqm to add the object to arma.

But the string has to get created first. And this is the job of LowFlys 3D Editor or RTE 4 Rev. 1.

Its possible i may have misunderstood considering Ive only been at this for only a month. I did manage to make my first map but was a long and tedious process, having to go back and forth from editor and preview in game to see where the over 800 objects were exactly placed. From the conversation u had with Frederf (below) it looked like u were saying that 3D Controller does save a made map for the mission.sqm but if its understanding how to get this too work well thats a givin. I have no clue. biggrin_o.gif

@Frederf:

I don't support saving into mission.sqm. My program creates scripts, so you can dynamic create them on runtime.

If you want to add the objects to your mission.sqm, take a look at Low Flys 3D Controller.

Ok, a short instruction:

Get RTE Rev 1 (In Rev 2 export has been modified to a better way which is incompatible to 3D Controller).

Get the 3D Controller.

Start the 3D Controller and configure it that it points to the correct mission. You only need the sqm, the sqs is not required.

Add RTE to the mod-list in 3D Controller.

Start ArmA using 3D Controller.

In ArmA start RTE (like written in the readme).

Place the objects.

#Export

Select one object

Click on 'Export'

Copy the text from the editbox into you clipboard (CTRG + C).

Switch to another program outside of ArmA.

Switch back to ArmA.

?(count objects > 0): goto Export

Close RTE and close the preview.

Reload the map in ArmA.

Now the new objects should appear in the editor.

When using RTE Rev 2 or RTE Capture with export to script, the objects don't appear in the editor, but in the mission.

Please understand, that the 'old way' from Rev 1 is history for me and that I recommend you to use RTE Rev 2 if you don't need to see the objects in the editor.
