GAU-8 0 Posted May 9, 2008 sorry guys, i am sure it is here somewhere, i just have the hardest times locating other threads if i do a search. i can never word right what i want to find, or it brings up page after page of nothing directly what i want. (if you know the link, thank you) i FINALLY found ARMA GOLD in a store, and purchased it. i allready have a legal purchased, fully patched ARMA on my PC. i have installed GOLD version in different location on same HD, but when it comes to patching the GOLD version, i cant figure out how to allocate the patches to my new directory. or is it not possible, and it will only install to default location? reason for the two versions is that i can have my "offline" version not interfere with my online version. (i run "stock" ECS MOD, to play with my buds, and the new GOLD version for all my modding "sand box playing") there may be a simpler way to deal with this, but this is the way i want to do it. so about patching to a different folder....? Synide 0 Posted May 9, 2008 Left-Click the <Start> button in Windows and then goto 'Run' and left-click. In the small dialog that comes up... type 'regedit' without the single-quotes and press the 'Ok' button or just press <enter> on your keyboard. Expand the registry until you come to the following key... HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Bohemia Interactive Studio\ArmA In this key there is a key/value pair called... MAIN Â Â REG_SZ Â Â <path-to-your-current-ArmA-install> Double-Left-Click on the word 'MAIN' and change the <path-to-your-current-ArmA-install> to the alternate install on your machine.... GAU-8 0 Posted May 10, 2008 well, so far it has the correct directory, (for ARMA GOLD) yet when i try to patch, it says it is allready at 1.12. but when i start the arma GOLD, it comes up to old 108.... hmmm. another issue i noticed now... my ECS ARMA, contains NO mods other than ECS. yet my ARMA GOLD..has EVERY mod that i had put on the PC for my original ARMA installation from over a year ago. (which has been deleted quite some time) yet i did not put them in the new ARMA GOLD install yesterday/today. wonder if there is another folder affecting this (i would think) i have RHS hinds, all sorts of MAPFACT stuff, new troops, and such. yet i didnt install them recently in the GOLD version. intersting...
