submdi 0 Posted April 16, 2008 Not sure why or how this happened, but when I'm in the editor I can no longer place empty playable vehicles on the map? I wasn't sure about how to search for this problem, and I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask. Anyone know why this has happened or how to fix it? Mr_Tea 0 Posted April 16, 2008 You have to place the player at first, than it works.
Rommel 2 Posted April 16, 2008 !!! Since when could you place 'playable' empty vehicles? That said it seems your talking about the entire empty class in the editor...
submdi 0 Posted April 16, 2008 Well, I'm sure I was able to select an empty vehicle and make it playable in the past. However now when I try and place a vehicle in the map that I want to be able to control, there is no option to make it playable/controlable. I have however just discovered that even when it says "Non Playable" in the editor when placing, I am still able to jump in it and control it when previewing the scenario. Just seems strange? I am sure there used to be an option under "Control" to be "Playable". I guess it doesn't really matter, as I still seem to be able to control these "Non Playable" vehicles anyway. fasad 1 Posted April 16, 2008 Are you confusing playable units (only relevant to person type units) with the vehicle lock option?
lebson506th 0 Posted April 16, 2008 You could place an empty vehicle and name it something, then place a playable man. In the man's description, put in the name of the vehicle IE "UAZ AGS30" to show the players what they are going to play. In the man's init, put "this moveInDriver vecName"
Mr_Tea 0 Posted April 16, 2008 You can`t place an empty vehicle, before you have placed a least one unit of any type, that can be counted as "Player".
lebson506th 0 Posted April 16, 2008 Yea you can, just change the "Player" field to "Non playable" and then you can change the side to Empty.
Rommel 2 Posted April 16, 2008 Ahhhhhhh! I see his problem. You could never place "PLAYABLE" empty vehicles. Now heres your mistake: PLAYABLE: Means Selectable in a TeamSwitch (SP) or Selectable in Lobby (MP). PLAYER: Means The Default Player (SP) or just a man defining the AiFriendly side (MP). Empty vehicles are always usable unless you lock them, this is not defined by the 'non-playable', as they are never controllable without a driver etc... ...unless you have some fancy as scripts but thats still irrelevant.
