Can I play on USA servers with the Russian version

I'm considering buying the game used for very cheap, but it was purchased in Russia and the seller says he never tried it online and is unsure if it will work on local servers.

The language does not matter, it has to be patched to the same version as the server runs the game, that`s all.

Short simple answer YES

As the previous poster pointed out; update to 1.08 and get the 1.09 beta. The 1.09 beta comes in mod folder form so you can run either 1.08 and 1.09 depending on the server you want to play on.

You may also need the Queens Gambit official addon for some servers, if you have not already got it then get it anyway it is cheap.

These lets you play on most servers.

Some servers have their own addons in a mod folder configuration, that particular server's web pages will tell you where to download those.
