Neo-Babylonian 0 Posted October 25, 2007 I got GOTY edition and using Windows XP. All I did with is is download and install the v1.96 patch, and the addons Iraq insurgency, DMA facetex, ICP weapons mod and ICP RPG mod. I followed the instructions in extracting the .pbo files and placing them into OFP/Res/Addons. The DMA facetex came with no readme, so I also just put it into the Res/Addon folder. When I was placing the RPG .pbo file, a message came up saying a similar one (with bigger filesize) exists, and I clicked to replace it. I just reinstalled my game, and that might be one from before, but I deleted the whole folder  . When I started the game, the start screen comes up frozen with a 'No entry for ICP weapons makarov' message (worded differently though). When I place an Insurgent Commander, and click preview in mission editor, it loads, then come back out into the editor with a message 'no special' something or the other. I'll get screenshots of the exact messages later. But does anyone please know what is wrong, and what i should do to fix it? Thanks in advance.
Risasi 0 Posted October 25, 2007 Uh, okay. First; It sounds like you might have put your mods directly into your main addons, dta, etc folders? (My path is; C:\program files\codemaster\operation flashpoint\* ) What you should do is create subfolders in the path above. For instance when I install WGL or FFUR-SLX on a machine what I will do is create a sub-folder for the main mod. (i.e. C:\program files\codemaster\operation flashpoint\@wgl) Then I create a separate shortcut on the desktop, the shortcut link should look something like; C:\program files\codemaster\operation flashpoint\FLASHPOINTRESISTANCE.EXE -nomap -nosplash -mod=@wgl What this does is run the mods in that subfolder without trashing your main install. Many mods and addons are not compatible with each other. Anyway, you will find that OFP will load the *.pbo's found in those mod subfolders. (i.e. C:\program files\codemaster\operation flashpoint\@wgl\addons) (i.e. C:\program files\codemaster\operation flashpoint\@wgl\dta) etc, etc... If this is the case, that you didn't create addon subfolders I would recommend you first start by uninstalling everything, then doing a fresh install of OFP:GOTY, then keep your mods separate, don't overwrite original files. If this is not the case please explain further.
Neo-Babylonian 0 Posted October 25, 2007 That is the case. I'll try learning how to do those subfolders and see what happens. Thanks very much for the advice, I appreciate it.
Neo-Babylonian 0 Posted October 30, 2007 Yep, sure. I created a folder in C:/program files/codemasters/operationflashpoint/@iraqi for the national guard mod. I created a shortcut, with the location copied and pasted from what you wrote, just with '@iraqi' instead of '@wgl'. A warning pop-up came us saying it cannot find the location :S . EDIT: I just noticed that the DMA facetex addon does not display the faces properly - they are all distorted and twisted at an angle - like the face skin is here the ears are. Also, the Iraq national guard addon I downloaded has only one PBO file. The readme says 'place all PBO files..." Does anyone know if this addon has more PBO's, or just the one. Thanks.
