Nvidia detonater v23.12

Recommended Posts

Hello!

My name is Hassan Gulzar. I’m living in Saudi Arabia.

I’m having the following problem with Operation Flashpoint:

I have upgraded to Windows XP Pro from Windows 98 SE.

Here is my System Configuration:

CPU: Intel Pentium III, 933 MHz

Memory: 512 MB SDRAM

Sound: Creative LIVE! Value

Graphics: NVIDIA RIVA TNT2 Model 64/ Model 64 Pro

DVD-Rom: Pioneer DVD-ROM DVD-115

Monitor: LG StudioWorks 55i

Joystick: MS Sidewinder Precision Pro

Network: Realtek RTL8139/810X Family Fast Ethernet NIC

This may not be a serious machine but that’s not the problem.

The problem is that I was using NVIDIA Detonator v21.11 on Win98 SE. I’ve recently upgraded to WinXP Pro but there were a lot of sudden restarts without any particular reason. I knew that there was something wrong with Detonator. I am a Power User and a tweak lover. I can safely say that I am a professional PC User. I always keep my PC up-to-date. So there isn’t a single Critical/Non-Critical Update I’ve missed. This also means that I am a regular at MSDN and MS-TechNet. I always report critical errors. The people at OCA (Online Crash Analysis https://oca.microsoft.com/) said that they have found the cause of the so called “sudden restartsâ€. They pointed towards Detonator’s main file. They said that I should visit Windows Update now. So I checked it out and found a 3MB+ file named as NVIDIA Detonator v2.3.1.2 or v23.12. Now this version is WHQL verified and it installed without problem. Although, there is no such file on NVIDIA’s Driver page! Everything went fine & all game worked except Flashpoint. My version is v1.42 and the whole game is… continuously experiencing “Hiccupsâ€. The gameplay, graphics are no longer fluid like they were before. All the options are same. Before upgrading to v23.12, I always received a score of 1611 from Operation flashpoint Setting Utility. Now I receive 1630. That more! But what’s with the game? The Frame-Rate Setting is normal. Visual Quality is usual. I’ve pressed Auto-Detect lots of time. I’ve re-Installed the whole game and applied the Upgrades but Its still there. One thing that if I re-install Detonator v23.11, everything goes back to fluid. But you can never tell when XP is going to crash!

Hey, this is my first Bug-report for this game. I hope all goes well within Understandable limits. Waiting for your reply!

The 27.42 was fatel to me . 27.30 seemed to rock with WinME.

BUt with XP i found that the old drivers or 23.11 or 27.30 drivers were a bbit choppy . I went against all my judgements and downloaded the 23.1.2 ( as they call it at MICROSOFT UPDATE and its the best graphics i have seen . I know everyone is different though . That was my lucky number though .

You may be experiencing control input lag which seems to be more prone to occuring under win2000/XP. Set your prerender limit to O or as low and it can go, turn off vertical sync and see if that helps any.
