frederf 0 Posted September 15, 2007 The Fourth Infantry Brigade is looking for companion groups to work with closely. THIS IS NOT A RECRUITMENT POST. THIS IS NOT A RECRUITMENT POST. THIS IS NOT A RECRUITMENT POST. What is the 4IB? Country of Origin: United States Army Branch Emulated: US Army Date Created: May 20, 2006 Unit Type: Stryker Brigade Combat Team Active Unit Size: (1) Rifle SBCT Platoon Current Member Count: 20-25 Ratio NCO or Higher: 35% WHAT DOES THE 4IB DO? Training: The 4IB trains regularly at the individual level and the group level to increase confidence, smoothness, skills, and unit cohesion. The 4IB has developed and refined its processes for over a year. A complete strategy for training is given that embodies the concepts of layers, stages, practicality, and real-life-isms. Concepts are taken from US Army Field Manuals, Dyslecxi's TT&P Guide, enlisted military members, and of course plain good suggestions. Coop Missions: Cooperative missions form the majority of 4IB operations. Operations are varied, challenging, and reasonable. Missions vary from short FTXs to long range patrols, coordinated assaults, and multi-part storied campaigns. NATO GC: 4IB operates as a fully inducted member in NATO GC, a multi-national multi-unit meta-group that participates in large-scale coordinated platoon- or company-sized missions and are truely impressive and immersive. (Player number: 30-50) Shack Tactical 4IB participates in as an approved guest unit during Shack Tactical operations, many of which are realism-based PvP encounters while others are cooperative missions. (Player number: 45-90) WHAT DOES THE 4IB HAVE TO OFFER? Solid Administrative Backbone: Smartly, fully featured forums, Hosted wiki field manual, PHP database, Dedicated TS2 assets, the World's first and only? PHP-database based Squad XML system. 4IB members have crafted its infrastructure for ease of use, ease of administration, aesthetic, and practical focused system. Talented Support Staff: Many 4IB members are addon-makers, graphical artists, software engineers, mission makers, writers, modelers, and sound engineers. The 4IB is constantly creating new game and web materials and improving existing materials. Good and Professional Attitude: Think the opposite of USM clan (if you haven't heard of them, consider yourself lucky). No juvenile power hording, no inflationary rank scheme, no SoF disillusions of grandeur, and no real-US-Ranger-snobbery. Instead you get people that know what they're doing, won't put your interests at the bottom, aren't afraid to learn new things, helpful, friendly, and optimistic. Custom current and future content: 4IB is constantly creating unique and valuable material both in game and out. WHAT ARE 4IB'S VALUES? Teamwork: No one fights alone. Someone has your back always. Individual Value: Every member of the team is valuable. The squad leader just has a little more training and a different job is all. The infantry private is the core of the unit. Rank means Responsibility: Not everyone should, will, or will want to be a leader. The leaders are there to help those they command and have to earn their positions which might not be as fun as the lower ones. Positions are based on skill and choice: The new guy has as good a shot at a position as anyone else. Positions are given as best as able based on preference. Don't Overinflated the Ego: Rank inflation is bad. 4-star generals need not apply. Being regular infantry is good enough. Being a US Army corporal is no insult. Rangers and SoF only when it makes sense. Realism: 4IB carries (1) AT4 at a time, does not use floating white crosshairs, does not use any moving map icons, etc. The decluttered user interface makes one more reliant upon his skill as a soldier, avoids distractions, and promotes realistic and team-oriented play. Sahrani is not Iraq: Or Afgahnistan. WHY IS 4IB DOING THIS? More players!: Why should 2 units play on 2 different servers with a squad and a half each when they can play together and get the fullest out of ArmA? A lesser number of bigger gaming groups is better than many tiny ones. Combine resources: Why pay for 2 servers when the cost can be shared? Why web develop several forums and databases when that effort can go toward one goal? Addon and mission makers can pool time and effort for better results. Better play: More heads make better tactics, better training, greater sense of pride in the unit, more play.
