Game Freezes and eventually crashes

I'm pretty new to the forums but noticed there were similar problems posted.

basically i have no problem playing arma in single player.

but when i get into a multiplayer server it runs fine for up to an hour.

then i get random freezes which usually last just a few seconds and happen ever 5 mins or so.

eventually i get 1 big freeze which closes arma and makes my desktop go to 8 bit colour. ive checked my video card and cpu temps at the time of the crashes and they are both running under 50C

i am running an amd 64x2 3800+ processor, 2gig of ram and a geforce 7600gs oc (with bfg stock overclock). 512meg pci/e video card.

has anyone had any similar problems and/or found a solution to it.

also in addition to my previous post i am running windows xp pro sp2 and have up to date current adware/spyware programs.
