No in-game sound at all

Hello

I recently came back to OFP because I never got chance to play the Resistance single player missions. Since I had played before I am on a new soundcard:

Win XP SP2 + EMU 0404

I can install GotY edition no problem, I even get the sounds that play off the CDs as it installs. Unfortunately once in-game I get no sound whatsoever. The game itself seems to think everything's ok though.

I do have an onboard sound chip, one of those AC97 things, but I have had to disable it through BIOS because my EMU 0404 doesn't like sharing my computer with it. Because this chip is disabled in BIOS I believe it is not the reason for the game having no sound output since the chip is hidden to the operating system, nevermind the game.

Therefore I believe the problem lies with the game and the EMU card.

I know my card is working properly and is updated to latest drivers, and my GotY is also latest patched version.

I have researched sound problems with OFP but most other people's issues are with distortion which is irrelevant to mine. I think I've also seen people mention an EMU 0404 as part of their system specs in other unrelated threads so it seems this card should work with the game and I am the only person with no sound in-game.

Please tell me this is fixable! It would be so great to be able to go into the game folder and change some setting to be able to tell the game to use my card or something..
