MilitiaSniper 0 Posted July 28, 2007 Can you use ARmA and OFP addons together. Ex: ArmA addons for OFP? Sincerely, MilitiaSniper PS. Don't get all pissed off. Just asking a question.
POPKA 0 Posted July 28, 2007 no they're completely uncompatable as far as I've seen, Arma and OFP use different config's for addons.
MilitiaSniper 0 Posted July 29, 2007 Hmmm..? Well to bad for us, OFP players. It would have been nice. Thanks man! Sincerely, MilitiaSniper
panzergrenadier3 38 Posted July 29, 2007 But I think it would not be so hard to place an ArmA addon into ofp. Just some config tweaks and MAYBE some model changes.

Now that's what I'm talking about! Good idea! Any one want to give this a shot? Sincerely, MilitiaSniper
franze 196 Posted July 29, 2007 Here's a short summary of what you need to do to convert an addon from FP to ArmA: - Make sure model is in MLOD format. - Add cfgskeletons and all the necessary bones from the model. - Modify cfgModels to reflect the new animation system. - Modify cfgAmmo to reflect the different class name derivatives. - Modify cfgWeapons to reflect the different class name derivatives. - Add cfgMagazines and the new magazine entries (necessary for weapons). - Add cfgVehicleClasses (NOT required). - Modify cfgVehicles to reflect the class name derivatives, new turret code, class Animations > class AnimationSources. - Kill all the bugs that crop up. I've spent the past couple weeks doing this; it's very time consuming to do the conversion process. There's also a lot of hassles involved in terms of getting scripting to work right due to changes there. Overall, ArmA requires more work on the config compared to FP. franze 196 Posted July 29, 2007 Yes, but that will take time for the above reasons.
MilitiaSniper 0 Posted July 29, 2007 Yes, but that will take time for the above reasons. Understood.., I just, "Thank You!" Be great if someone could do the same for the islands. Sincerely, MilitiaSniper
panzergrenadier3 38 Posted July 30, 2007 I think (not know) that it is not possible to import ArmA islands to ofp because the land "model" is much more detailed. Sorry for going offtopic: @Franze: Do you still work on your great raptor?
franze 196 Posted July 30, 2007 OT: No, I haven't had the time to work on F-22 much at all. I had planned to get more on it done but it's been a busy summer. On Topic: I believe there's been at least one island for OFP that was converted to ArmA. I don't recall the name, though.
