Sound going away after game crash?

Ok. Since I have began playing ARMA I have noticed something odd.

Whenver my game crashes "which is very very often" my sound goes away until I reboot 2 - 3 more times. HOWEVER it still works in the game.

Odd I know.

If I do not restart, no sound in windows, no sounds with movies or mp3's. However when I load the game, sound works fine

I use a fatal1ty sound card with latest driver

7900gs with latest driver

2 gigs of XMS 2 ram

3.2 pent 4

Nothing is overclocked, and I have very little runnin in the background (run smartclose), however the game still stutters quite often or It goes to the black reciving screen. I run settings on normal with no shadows and veiw distance of 2000.

Need anything else just ask

Also there are no mods installed in my game
