POPKA 0 Posted May 27, 2007 I started working on these a while ago with Liberation mod in mind, since im going to be releasing it anyway I thought why limit it to one mod? so Hopefully It will work with all/Most Flashpoint mods (though I know for certain Liberation Mod is fully compatable). So far this addon contains five different earth works along with two crater varients (Based on the ECP 3d crater), a couple of old rusty burnt trucks based on the Liberation mod Gaz truck model and some burnt trees which i thought could add to the environment in warzone style missions. Im going to make some more earthworks and possibly few variants with Sandbags or barbedwire. One of the big questions that is asked with addons such as these is whether or not the AI can shoot and manover round them, From the tests I've done so far the AI have no problem moving round them and theres nothing scarier than seeing a tank Rolling over a mound in front of you. The AI are able to shoot over the earth works as long as you put This setdammage 1 in the Init line for the object, they will not crumple up or explode as I have disabled it in the config Anyway here are some pictures: Beta 1 released - http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin....1;top

siQ 0 Posted May 27, 2007 still looking good. but id wish to see some more than just sand put up as a position. some wood "fence" holding it together like in trenches, to make it looking more realisitc. and what about a roof with earth and more sandbags on it? or even bigger positions like for a 88 or a little commando position, i mean a closed position like a circle with nets over it or i dunno eh i found a little moddeling page with many positions at the end of the page have a look http://brookhursthobbies.com/shellholescenics.htm

Heres a picture of a little mg nest I made, hopefully that is a little closer to what you were thinking of?: *Img moved to first post the only problem is the Default BIS anims don't give the player enough height to see over it so i will probably have to lower the logs a couple of inches. I'll make a few texture variations of the ones I have done so far and then release what I've done so far in a little alpha package for some feedback & ideas . siQ 0 Posted May 27, 2007 it comes closer and closer to my thought and i bet u gonna do it as good as usual. if u need some more ideas just ask me im full of ideas atm
Student Pilot 0 Posted May 27, 2007 These would be a wonderful addition to OFP! Â And they look very well made, I am pleasantly surprised at how well they transition to the ground texture. Â Hope to see these soon! Quick question, do the earthworks protect you from grenades and shells? -Pilot EDIT: Would it be possible to add an init eventhandler to these positions which automatically sets their damage to 1 so the mission maker doesn't have to do it in the init line? (I'm asking because I know I'd probably forget )
POPKA 0 Posted May 27, 2007 I tried it but It didn't seem to work properly, the AI wouldn't fire over it with it added in the config. I'll have a look and see if they protect against grenades. Though I know that sometimes if you throw a grenade it sometimes hits the wall in front of you, so you have to aim high, Thats a problem caused with most ofp Grenades as the units throw them from there chest instead of their hands. The craters seem to provide a bi protection from grenades and shells but not the earth works, I'll look into it and see if i can make them all work like that. I think it has somthing to do with being stood on the Roadway Lod
Student Pilot 0 Posted May 27, 2007 Strange...guess it's one of those odd OFP limitations. Oh well, thanks for trying. Can't wait till these are released! -Pilot
