walker 0 Posted April 25, 2007 Hi gollum13 Looked at back of my packaging minimum graphic card spec for a Radeon is a 9500. Time to upgrade. At the very least you need to upgrade your graphic card. I would recomend you get your self an X1950 pro if it will fit in your system but tell us what the rest of your system specs are first. PSU might be a problem as such a card sucks a lot of power. Kind Regards walker
troop 0 Posted April 25, 2007 Hi gollum13, Your graphics card lacks the *minimum specifications* needed to run ArmA. Radeon 9200 is an DirectX 8.1 card, whereas ArmA needs an DirectX 9 as a *minimum* to be able to even start. (For example: Radeon 9500 series) You need to update your graphics card. And do not get an cheap one to begin with. imho. And you *definetely* need more RAM! (1GB is good;..2GB is much better) Check this out: Radeon 9200 specs (only Pixelshader v1.4; ArmA needs 2.0) http://ati.amd.com/products/radeon9200/radeon9200/specs.html --- ArmA specs; minimum needed/recommended: Minimum Specification: * CPU: 2.0 GHz Intel Pentium 4 or equivalent processor * RAM: 512 MB * Graphics card: Nvidia Geforce FX series or ATI Radeon 9500 series or higher (Pixel Shader 2.0) * HD space: 1 GB (or more as needed for downloadable addons) * Operating system: Windows XP or Windows 2000 Recommended Specification: * CPU: 3.0 GHz Intel Pentium 4 or equivalent processor * RAM: 1 GB * Graphics card: Nvidia Geforce 6800 series or ATI Radeon X800 series or higher * HD space: 4 GB (or more as needed for downloadable addons) * Operating system: Windows XP --- Personal opinion: If you decide to upgrade(for ArmA, that is), do not buy an graphics card below NVidia 7800GS+;..better yet save up for an 8800xxx card. If it has to be an Radeon, then do not buy something below Radeon XT1950. ArmA is an very demanding game and if you want to fully enjoy it (performance; graphics) without sacrificing too much details, you should aim high. Again; imho.
