"Wrong Cd Key!" when trying to patch

when i try to patch with either version of the 1.05 patch a message immediately comes up saying "wrong cd key".  what can i do to fix this?

Maybe, you should buy a legit copy with legit CDKEY?

If it is not the case, then contact BIS via email.
