Quick questions about finalising

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I just have a couple questions and I wasn't sure where to post...

Is it bad to have too many objects in a MP map? - I notice alot of maps don't have many objects in them. (I have bases on one map, not huge or anything but I don't want to release the map only to find I have to delete a whole lot of stuff) Im talking about sandbags, vehicles etc. Not really AI

How do I save the mission so that others can download it? - Must I compress the mission folder into 1 PBO?

And, if I used a few addons like choppers or troops in my map which are not standard in the original game. Would anyone downloading it also get the same units or would they have to download it separately?

Thanks

MNZ

Excessive use of user placed objects always will have an effect on the mission speed and the local "on client" performance. More objects , more rendering. Keep it balanced.

Once you have finalized your mission in editor export it to Multiplayer and all stuff contained in your Missionfolder will be packed into a pbo-missionfile and saved in your multiplayer mission folder.

Custom addons are not included in regular mission - export. Either you pack them into a zip or rar file along with the mission or give the users a download link in the readme that should come along with the mission to avoid confusion.
