Boats dont "land" on beaches

Recommended Posts

Hi everybody!

First of all, congrats to BIS and the OFP Comunity, i really like ArmA like OFP did!!! Im an OFP fan....

Plz excuse my english if it sounds rude.. Im spanish...

My problem is, in a typycal "beach-head" mission Im not able to make any kind of boat (of any side) "land" on beaches like in the old OFP (you just send them to the shore and they go there without any problem)

They just stop at 10-20 meters of the shore and the cargo drops out. The problem is that in 10-20 meters of distance, the soldiers have enough time to loose their weapons on the water.

Than can be solved with an addweapon etc.. but seems unrealistic. In fact is good to have to make the soldiers of your squad get the weapons of dead soldiers etc.. bun not ALL (including you) of all the landing squads

The right solution just seems to get closer to the land those boats.

I tried to send them just moving, or downloading, in every combat and speed mode.... nothing. Only one of each 20 tries they "land" closer enough to the beach so the soldiers doesent loose their weapons

The terrain doesent seem to have anything strange, i tried to do this at southern beaches of Saharani (seem a perfect terrain for that kind of missions)

Well, if any of the super coders, scriptor or editors can solve, ill be thank full to read (and learn) from them...

Cya ppl!!! And thanks!!!

That´s a bug right now.

It has already been reported and will be hopefully fixed within a patch.

Thank you very much...

I cant wait to the fix.. Ill solve the problem with a "film script" trick... the action will start with everybody ashore, like in the Iwo Jima film, OPFOR will be waiting till the enemy gets closer........
