beachBOYken 0 Posted March 13, 2007 hi so far i have not been able to enjoy this game because of all the problems im having with graphics im hoping its just because ive got vista 64bit and a crappy nvidia beta driver 100.65 vista64bit, which still has problems. i would just like to know if my system below will be able to produce the graphics like in the upcoming game crysis as arma assault has made me think is my card anygood as the graphics are so disapointing from what i would expect for a 8800 card ? my spec: vista premium 64bit e6300 @2.8ghz ocz 2gig ram bfg 8800gts 320mb cheers
dirtylarrygb 0 Posted March 14, 2007 8800 GTX/S generally for many users runs ARMA great. Stable 60fps at 1600x1024 with almost all eye candy on. Vista has a lot of problems with ARMA and the 8800, so its best for now to run XP SP2 with the 8800 and ARMA (and many games). But those problems will be patched soon. Even an 8800 GTS gives you 2x the horsepower of the best 7 series single cards or ATI 19** series. ARMA has visuals to rival CRYSIS or ALAN WAKE, its a much larger engine and many of it problems you read about with performance is it's trying to stream a 400sq km map to your GPU. Even a 8800 can't run everything maxed and not stutter but the same is true for several other new games like Supreme Commander as well as Crysis etc. The 8800's also have real issues with SLI performance, but nothing wrong with getting one now and adding another if you have an SLI mobo in next few months when the SLI drives improve. Mr_Tea 0 Posted March 14, 2007 Many users of the 8800 version based card have reported problems, that will be fixed by newer drivers hopefully released soon. And to all, don`t double post.
dirtylarrygb 0 Posted March 14, 2007 ive got a 8800gts and i cant play the damn game because of slowdowns Some GTS have issues that the GTX don't, EVGA bard is full of those issues right now. But if you run XPSP2 and follow the advice in the sticky, and have your CPU set up correctly and nvidia settings done correctly, ARMA work very well with almost all eye candy pretty maxed out. If your GTS is the 320 version textures med-low could really help you. yeah sorry for double posts, I had some issues with the site last night!
